Quince-Essential

If you ever come to Toronto, Canada and want to have a great dinner with an amazing ambiance, then you must go to Quince. I had such a great time there that I had to write them a letter. This is rare of me! Please read what I had to say:

" To Jennifer & Michael:

Quince is an elegant blend of various cultures around the world. Your restaurant has much to offer to its patrons. From the great décor that provides an intimate ambiance, to the wonderful dishes brilliantly developed. I had the privilege of hosting a birthday party and the service was impeccable.

My best friend celebrated his 29th birthday on 02/17/07 at your restaurant and you made it a night to remember. From the planning phase of the event, you were very welcoming & accommodating; which is a change from other restaurants I’ve been to. A guest list of 14 soon turned into 17 and it wasn’t a problem. For the guests attending (including myself), this would the first time that we would be having the “Quince” experience. The private party area was setup appropriately with: a TV, music system and a nice bench layered with pillows. All of these features were made for a unique experience; a definite plus.

The food was great. The flat iron steak w/ frites is an excellent dish. The Dutch poutine is also a great appetizer. I heard from the other guests that they enjoyed their dishes as well. From the Capunti w/ Parmesan shavings to the bacon-wrapped quail, everyone really enjoyed their meals.

The service was great. Your servers Pedro and Emily were really polite and personable. Usually you find that the owner/s is caught up in administrative functions; but at Quince you showed us a different type of owner. Jennifer, as the one of the owners, you were really involved and made sure that this was a great experience. We will definitely be repeat customers and from what I have heard from our guests, they also will be having their engagements there.

Thank you for many things: A positive atmosphere, personable service and great food.

I had to write this letter because usually when you hold an event at a restaurant, they bombard you with a ton of restrictions. Quince was very accommodating. I mean I got to play all my favorite jams while I ate! I felt at home and the food was great. For those who are wondering, there is no compensation for the plug! This is a sincere testimonial. Happy Sunday.

My 'Horoscoping' to you: Eat well, drink well and make sure you thank the server. S/he is bringing you your food, which could determine your fate at the end of the night.
